My favorite holiday is only 9 days away and I find my need for comfort and thankfulness at an all time high. Coming together, breaking bread, giving thanks, stuffing yourself can all fall under the same umbrella at this time of year. No judgements this holiday, just acceptance. I've even decided to allow change into my Turkey Day this year; I'm recipe testing as opposed to a cold run of new recipes day of and I'm not going to make every single thing on the table.
I wanted to share with you the things that have helped the tickle in my fancy return. After the multiple dishes and helpings of the Thanksgiving feast I always find my desserts to be more pecked at so I'm going smaller in that area this year. Instead of my traditional apple pie I'm making apple roses that are like two bites of apple pie. Pro Tip; I've seen several recipes online but found that if you toss the apples in the cinnamon before you roll them it tastes better and more authentic.
Not hosting? I've included links to some great host/hostess gift guides that will carry over into your other inevitable holiday shopping. The last addition to my routine is letting a napkin ring create my new obsession of setting the table. Don't worry, you too can find which colors you would prefer to create an ombré tablescape or what style your tabletop could display by following the links below.
I guess this is life after 30, work at what's a challenging or new and not feeling the need to do it all myself. Help it turns out is nice and necessary.
