I am very excited to share this video from my online series "A Source To Inspire Your Season." Join me throughout the holiday season to see all of the wonderful content I will be sharing to inspire you! With the fall season here I love to make a large pot of this mixture to share with others when they come over. I used to only ever buy my chai pre-made but have found my own version at home much more delicious.
Recipe;
2 Bay Leaves
4 Whole Cloves
6 Cardamon Pods
1 tsp whole black peppercorns
4 Black Tea Bags
1 tsp of Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp of Ground Ginger
1/4 Cup of Honey
Pinch of salt
2 Cups of Water
1 Cup of Whole Milk
1 Cup of Hazelnut Milk
Place the bay leaves, cloves, cardamon pods and peppercorns into bowl. Crush with spoon or use a mortar and pestle. I find pulsing a couple of times with a food processor works well too.
Add all of your ingredients to a large pot and turn to a high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil then reduce to a low simmer for 15 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes and strain contents. Pour into individual mugs and serve! Enjoy!
